Professional Ballet Program (Age 9-18)
This program at Epiphany is designed for dancers who are interested in pursuing ballet as a profession. Part-time or full time training are offered consecutively. The part-time training program aims to prepare dancers to audition for major training institutions and the full-time division is designed to help dancers to pursue a dance career in either professional dance companies or dance institutions. Dancers in both divisions are expected to attend ballet competitions both locally and internationally. We employ Vaganova’s training system in this program starting grade 5/9yr and up. The classes offered in this program include basic ballet technique, pointe work from age 10 up, character dance, repertoire classes, partner work (for dancers aged 15 and up), Jazz/contemporary, conditioning/stretching. Workshops in other dance styles are offered throughout the training to expand the versatility of the dancers. The dancer in the program is expected to dance 2-3 hours minimum daily and 4-6 days a week depending on the division. To enroll in this program, contact the artistic director for an assessment.
Summer Ballet Intensive is mandatory. The intensive consists of either 2 weeks at Epiphany, where internationally accomplished dance artists are invited to teach, or 2-4 weeks at an internationally renowned dance institutions, such as Royal New Zealand School of Dance, and Beijing Dance Academy.
